Born in Rio de Janeiro, Karina Matias is the designer and founder of Karina Matias Accessories. Karina grew up in an environment strongly influenced by creativity- her home in Brazil.  Her mom and sister were constantly involved in the fashion industry.  As a business student at the University of Florida, she started selling jewelry to friends and co-workers who were impressed by the jewelry she wore. During a trip to Brazil, she took one jewelry class at a local bead store and returned home full of ideas and several beads.  What started as a freelance to make extra money (and a dinning room table full of beads) has became a fun job, a passion, and a dynamic business.

In 2005, she began a new stage in her career by launching her own collection, inspired by the dynamics of her culture and the memories of her childhood in Rio - the Carnival, the Rain Forest, the ocean, the cheerfulness of her townspeople and her desire to celebrate women's inner beauty in her own unique way.  Karina also represents a top of the line team of jewelry designers and "Indigena" artisans from her native Brazil.

"It's amazing the combination of colors, style, and sophistication you can see in Brazil." Karina said. "The same piece can be worn by women with completely different fashion styles. It only depends how you wear it. It's all about the statement you want to make."

Karina Matias offers an ongoing collection throughout the year, adding exclusive and new designs every week. We only make few pieces of each item to insure our customers remain unique and each piece is individually hand made.
